# Your images stay on your device

Short version: the files you open here are processed by your own browser and are never uploaded.

## Files you open

Every tool on PNGMender reads your files with JavaScript in your browser and processes them in background workers on your device. Images, their pixels, metadata and file names are not sent to this site or to anyone else. The oxipng WebAssembly module used by the compressor is downloaded from this site like any other part of the page; nothing travels the other way.

Results you download are created in your browser's memory. When you close or reload the tab they are gone; nothing is kept on a server because nothing reaches one.

## Settings

If you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the next page uses it. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time with your browser's site-data settings.

## Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type, paste or drop into the tools. It records things like the page address, the referring site and the browser type, in aggregate.

## No cookies, no ads, no accounts

PNGMender sets no cookies, shows no ads and has no sign-up. The pages are served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes your IP address to deliver them.

## Links to other sites

Links in the footer and some pages lead to other websites, including sister tool sites, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
